What's up with the white egg....?

in

Okay, a little Rolling Hills Farm trivia....How do you determine the color of egg a chicken will lay?  Brown chicken - brown egg?  White chicken - white egg? Nope!! The color of the chicken's EAR determines the color of the egg it will lay!  So, we have four chickens with white ears and get an average of 3-4 white eggs a day.  The same amazing eggs you have come to expect - just a different color shell!  Many visitors have asked me if the bleaching/chemical process that stores use turn the eggs white - and although it does start the process of breaking down the shells and shorten the "shelf life" of our PURE eggs, it does not change the color!
