Is pasture raised the same as "organic?"
No, it's better! We are asked this question often and we like to say we exceed "organic"! Because having the label of "organic" is now a word game of big business and government - even USDA allows old frozen birds to be called fresh as long as they are not frozen below zero. Cows and hogs can be raised in small paddocks and poultry in crowded factory houses as long as they are fed politically correct rations - they get the "organic" stamp of approval (upon proper payment). At Rolling Hills Farm all our animals are on grass Our cattle and hogs are free to roam on carefully managed pastures. Our poultry is in protective netting and moved on fresh grass daily. The result is a delicious product produced in a healthy and humane environment. Nature's plan is proving to be the superior plan!
